Specialist programs
MPPS offer a range of programs to support and engage our community. We provide tailored educational experiences that cater to diverse student needs, learning styles and interests. They also support skill development, encouraging creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, teamwork, and problem-solving. This ensures that all students can thrive in our community.
CREST
CREST stands for – Creativity in Research, Engineering, Science and Technology. It is an educational program made available by CSIRO for teachers and students to develop and improve their science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) skills.
CREST helps students develop their inquiry learning in the classroom and enables them to undertake a science investigation or a technology project. The CREST Awards have been designed as an incentive to recognise student progress and achievement in inquiry learning.
There are three award levels: Green, Orange, and Blue. The awards are competency-based and are non-competitive.
Munno Rangers
Munno Rangers is a program that involves caring for and looking after our science area.
Students are trained and mentored by Mrs Daff to look after school pets and the Science gardens.
They will participate in maintaining the Science gardens: such as watering, preparing gardens beds, pruning, and planting. Animal maintenance will include, feeding, watering, cleaning, and preparing animal enclosures.
Munno Mates
Munno Mates is a buddy program that involves students being assigned a student from another class and placed into a group. Each week students attend a 20 minute activity together led by a teacher. The groups rotate each week so they get to meet a different teacher and do a different partner activity.
Vegetable Gardens
Our school garden began as a small class project to engage students in learning. Thanks to a Food Security Grant, the project became a larger class project that allowed us to plant tomatoes, zucchini, basil, pumpkin, watermelon and strawberries. Students were able to plant and care for seedlings, taste, harvest, observe changes in the growing and give seedlings and produce to the community. The whole school is encouraged to come down to the garden to investigate and learn.
Auskick
At Munno Para Primary School, we proudly run NAB AFL Auskick each year, providing students with a fun and engaging introduction to Australian Football. Through exciting game-based activities, children develop important skills like teamwork, coordination, and confidence—all while having a great time! With strong participation from students and support from our dedicated teachers, Auskick offers a fantastic opportunity to build skills and enjoy AFL in a positive and inclusive environment.
